Housing Program
Family Promise of Lubbock is Not only a shelter, but a Program helping parents overcome barriers that prevent them from obtaining or maintaining self-sufficiency. Our program provides up to 6 months of temporary housing, case management and guidance with securing work, counseling, medical care, daycare assistance, local transportation, financial management, parenting classes and other supportive services.
Our goal is to provide housing while the parent(s) have time to focus on their future and family, to rebuild ones life. We strive to create generations of change by clarifying goals, developing self-awareness, identifying obstacles holding one back, and coming up with strategies for overcoming barriers; all of which help parents and their children make progress in their lives to attain greater fulfillment and independence.
We develop an individualized plan incorporating the pillars of wellness; physical, emotional, social, spiritual, intellectual, occupational, financial, and environmental. Plans and support are mapped out beyond the duration of housing to reinforce the continuation of transformation, balancing life, and stability, through our Stabilization Program.
1 THESSALONIANS 5:11 instructs us to “encourage each other and build each other up, just like you are doing already.” Helping people to begin to see themselves as God sees them can foster hope, and hope can produce change.
